My name is Kevin Schuster, a senior at Shenendehowa High School, in upstate New York. My whole life I have loved nothing more than sports. I always wanted to be a part of any sport I could because I love competition. But the majority of my family and their ancestors, we’re all soccer players. Soon I would find myself being quickly engaged and involved in to what would become the best thing in my life.
As a kid I never intended to be a soccer player. Countless seasons of football and recreational basketball filled the young years of my life. One summer afternoon when I was about 7 years old, I was outback with my family, watching my brother train for upcoming soccer tryouts. He came up to me and suggested I should tryout and so I just went with it because I knew I wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t make a team. But I did. And ever since then I’ve been obsessed.
The last 10 years have been filled with countless training and camps, playing for both club and my high school. Most Saturdays I’ll even wake up and just watch soccer for a few hours. Soccer has come to be my life. Positively effecting my athletic and academic life by staying fit while gaining many leadership and team work skills.
Soccer has left so many memories in my life, from breaking my leg, to being ranked #1 in New York State four separate times. It’s shaped me to who I am and I’ll forever be grateful for everyone who has helped and encouraged me at every training and practice I’ve ever been in.
I started this blog because I love gaining knowledge about soccer and love telling people all about it. As of right now the biggest professional tournaments are going on. I hope to provide soccer knowledge to anyone from soccer lovers, to people who have never even touched a soccer ball. I hope they learn and maybe even begin to follow and enjoy the sport.
